Researchers are using fMRI imaging to map semantic relationships in the brain. Would the result be an ontology of everything? What's the range of individual differences and what do differences between individuals' maps mean? Could these maps be used to help us in conversational design?
The researchers concluded that there are a lot of similarities, in terms of brain activity, between reading and listening to stories, says lead author Fatma Deniz.
Until now, the assumption was that there would be clearer differences between the two.
